Former Ambassador of Tajikistan to Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia with residence in Minsk (Belarus), Mr. Qozidavlat Qoimdodov, has been appointed the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) Resident Representative in Tajikistan, replacing Mr. Akbar Ali Pesnani, according to Pamir Daily News.
Mr. Qoimdodov will be the first Tajik national to head AKDN’s office in Tajikistan.
Qozidavlat Qoimdodov (born on October 7, 1949) is a Tajikistani politician and diplomat.
From November 2009 to December 2017, he served as Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia with residence in Minsk (Belarus).
Prior to this, he had served as Tajik Ambassador to Turkmenistan (2005-2009), Deputy Prime Minister in charge of agriculture and Tajikistan’s Government Coordinator of AKDN Tajikistan (2000-2005), Deputy of the Supreme Assembly (Tajikistan’s Parliament — 1995-200, and Deputy Head of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan (1992-1995).
