On Tuesday April 23, Saadi Qodirzoda, formerly head of the Antimonopoly Service under the Government of Tajikistan, was appointed deputy head of President’s Executive Office.  

Saadi Qodirzoda was born in Dushanbe on May 4, 1978.  In 1999, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Tajik National University.

In 2000, he worked as specialist at the currency control department of the commercial bank “Dushanbe.”

In 200 – 2003, Qodirzoda worked as leading specialist at the Regional Development Directorate of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Tajikistan.  He had worked at different positions at this Ministry until June 2015.

From June 2015 to April 23, 2019, Qodirzoda headed the state antimonopoly body             

Besides Tajik, Saadi Qodirzoda also speaks Russian and English.  

Ikromiddin Valizoda, who had previously served as deputy head of the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection (Tojikstandart) under the Government of Tajikistan, was appointed to head the Antimonopoly Service.

Valizoda was born on October 10, 1974 in Qurghon Teppa (currently Bokhtar).  He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Tajik National University in 1998.

From 1992 to 1994 he worked as a store clerk in Qurghon Teppa.  From 1994 to 1995, Valizoda worked as freight forwarder at the wholesale trade base of Khatlon province.  From 1995 to 1998, he worked as store clerk in Qurghon Teppa.  In 1998-2000, Valizoda served deputy director-general of the Qurghon Teppa flour-grinding plant.   In 2000-2002, Valizoda served director-general of Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Vakhsh in Qurghon Teppa.  In 2002-2005, he serve as director-general of the Qurghon Teppa flour-grinding plant.  In 2005-2010, Valizoda was director-general of Easteco-Textiles Company.  In 2010-2010, he headed the Trade Inspectorate of Tojikstandart in Khatlon province.  In 2011-2015, Valizoda headed Tojikstandart’s Directorate for Khatlon Province.  From May 5, 2015 to April 22, 2019, Valizoda served as deputy head of the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection (Tojikstandart) under the Government of Tajikistan.   

Besides Tajik, Ikromiddin Valizoda also speaks Russian and English.

Valizoda is married with five children.  

Recall, the president’s press service announced on April 23 that President Emomali overturned a decree adopted earlier this year by the state antimonopoly body to set new mandatory minimum mobile internet tariffs.  The statement also noted that the officials who had pushed through the price rise could face sanctions. 

It was the Antimonopoly Agency under Saadi Qodirzoda that announced on March 4 that as of March 27, mobile telecommunication services providers will be able to sell online data for no less than 0.05 somoni per megabyte (twofold increase) and the price for one minute of mobile international call, including NGN communications, will amount to no less than 1.20 somoni (tenfold increase).
