On Saturday November 2, the northern Sughd province and several districts subordinate to the center will be left without electricity for several hours.  Only vital objects will be provided with electricity through spare power transmission lines.

On November 2, the supply of electricity in Sughd province and some districts subordinate to the center will be restricted in connection with repair on the high voltage lines “Regar (500) – Dushanbe (500)” and “South-North” as well as the “Dushanbe (500)” substation, according to Barqi Tojik (Tajikistan’s national integrated power company).

An official source within Barqi Tojik says electricity will be cut off from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  “During this period of time, the vital objects will be provided with electricity through spare power transmission lines,” the source said.

According to him, repair works are carried out within the framework of preparation of economic and social facilities for winter season.

The repair works are carried out to adapt the country’s power grid to winter season, the source added.
