Tajikistan national under-22 football team to take part in the ASEAN Football Championship due in Malasia. Group C matches – Tajikistan, Bahrain, Iran, Maldives and Qatar – will be held from June 23 to July 2.  

Since all national teams refused to host the group, Asian Football Confederation decided to host the tournament in Kuala-Lumpur.

Two best teams will compete in the final round, which is due on January 11-26, 2014. This is the first ever Asian Under-22 Football Championship which is carried out by the Asian Football Confederation. The tournament is expected to be held every two years. 2014 Asian Football Championship is a pilot tournament while the 2016 tournament will be conducted as a qualifying tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil.

Group B

: Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Sri-Lanka



Group C

: Bahrain, Iran, Tajikistan, Qatar, Kuwait, Maldives.


Group D

: Uzbekistan, Jordan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Nepal


Group E

: Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Macau, East Timor


Group F

: China, Thailand, North Korea, Hong Kong, Laos, Cambodia


Group G

: South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Chinese Taipei, Philippines
