DUSHANBE, October 2, 2012, Asia-Plus  — KONCAR of Croatia and Turkey’s GOZUM are reportedly ready to support investment projects in Tajikistan.

The Tajik MFA information department reports an agreement on this subject was reached on September 27 during a meeting of Tajik Ambassador to Turkey Farrukh Sharipov with top managers of the mentioned companies.

Tajik diplomat briefed Croatian and Turkish businesspersons on socioeconomic situation and investment climate in Tajikistan as well as water-and-energy potential of the country and investment projects being implemented in Tajikistan.

Top managers of KONCAR and GOZUM expressed interest in participating in the investment projects in Tajikistan and they intend to visit Tajikistan next month, the source said.

The KONCAR Group is an electrical, transport and energy company based in Zagreb, Croatia.  Listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange, the company consists of some 20 dependent companies, employing a staff of over 4,200.  Annual sales account for



400 million, of which almost half are exports.  During recent years KONCAR has delivered its products and plants to more than 100 countries across all continents.  During recent years, the most important KONCAR export markets have been Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, Slovenia, Macedonia, Serbia, Canada, Czech Republic, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands and many others.

KONCAR dates from 1921, when a modest but at the time highly significant manufacture of electrical motors commenced in Zagreb.  The company is named after World War II resistance fighter Rade Koncar.

Established in 1980, GOZUM is an energy, tourism and construction company.
