DUSHANBE, January 13, 2014, Asia-Plus — Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev held a meeting at the end of last week to review the results of the past year’s work.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Davlatali Saidov, attended the meeting.

Dushanbe-based industrial enterprises produced a total of 908.1 million somoni worth of goods, which was 83.4 million somoni less than in 2012.

Lack of natural gas was reportedly the main reason for decrease in industrial production in the Tajik capital in 2013, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office said.

Meanwhile, 15 new industrial enterprises that were introduced into operation in Tajikistan last year created 257 new jobs, the spokesman said.

18,40 residents of Dushanbe now work at Dushanbe-based industrial enterprises, which is 5.4 percent more than in 2012.
