Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), managing the funds of the Eurasian Fund for stabilization and development (EFSD), transferred to Tajikistan the first tranche of the financial credit in the amount of $20 million.

As reports the press service of the EDB, the decision about the transfer of the first tranche of the loan was made on the basis of the performance of all preliminary conditions of its granting, established by decision of EFSD Council on 8th of December 2015 and the Credit agreement signed on August 15, 2016 between the EDB and Tajikistan.

It is expected that in the medium term substantial support to the state budget will render assistance the measure on rationalization of customs and tax benefits through transparency of information on their value and the abolition of inefficient preferences.

“This measure is a key condition for the second tranche of $20 million, a key date of valuation run of which will be updated during scheduled for early September 2016 visit of the Manager in the Republic of Tajikistan”, – stated in the message of EDB.
