According to Barqi Tojik (Tajikistan's national integrated power company), Tajikistan in September exported more than 210 million kWh of electricity to neighboring countries, which is 14.9 percent of the overall volume of electricity generated in Tajikistan last month.

Last month, Tajikistan reportedly supplied 173.6 million kWh of surplus electricity to Afghanistan (33.7 million kWh less compared to the same period last year) and 36.5 million kWh of surplus electricity to Kyrgyzstan (26.3 million kWh more compared to September 2015).

Tajikistan has sufficient summer-time (defined as May 1 to September 30) hydropower surpluses to export to the neighboring countries.

Over this period, Tajikistan has reportedly exported more than 1.3 billion kWh, which is nearly 5 percent more than in the same period last year.  Of this amount, 50 million kWh of electricity has been supplied to Kyrgyzstan and the remaining part to Afghanistan.
