Rustam Nazarzoda, the head of the Committee on Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CES) under the Government of Tajikistan, has held a meeting to review the results of work carried out by the Committee last year. 

The deputy heads of the Committee have reported on the results of work carried out by regional emergency management agencies in 2017 and shortcomings existing in their work, Ms. Umeda Yusupova, a spokeswoman for the CES, told Asia-Plus Monday afternoon. 

According to her, the work of the regional emergency management agencies was recognized unsatisfactory and the CES chief gave the emergency management agencies of Khatlon, Sughd and the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) time to remove shortcomings existing in their work.
